Chapter 4: Metrics and Economics

As referenced in the book, the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) developed an internationally accepted standard for the cost per hire metric (CPH) to hopefully put some standardization to this process. I’ll remind you all that I’m not a huge fan of this (CPH) metric, even though it is standardized because it doesn’t really tell me a lot about my work. It can help me plan and develop my budgets more effectively, but again, it should be an internal operational metric, not one that is reported on to the business.
