Chapter 9: The Power of Relationships

One of the best things you can do to understand candidate relations is to put yourself in the candidate’s shoes. After all, they are the ones who are putting themselves out there; they are opening up their lives for your inspection. As a consultative Recruiter you need to perform due diligence and get the information you need to make an informed decision. During this process you can either make a friend of the candidate or make an enemy. It is entirely your choice. You can do your job and even deliver bad news in a way that is respectful and enhances the brands of you and your company.

From the candidates’ perspective, there are many things they could love about applying for a job at your company—and what they could hate.

Click here to see my list of 10 things candidates love and hate.
